Historic Hyde Park Needs You!

Our mission is to "promote, develop, cultivate, maintain, and preserve the aesthetic, civic and communal characteristics of our neighborhood." Our goals for improving our neighborhood include historic preservation, community-building, and communications. These all go into making Historic Hyde Park one of the most desirable neighborhoods in Tampa.

Historic Preservation:

Our infrastructure, including the exterior of our homes, the sidewalks and the streets, are subject to the laws and guidelines of the Hyde Park Historic District. While this places additional responsibility on us, it also adds to the value of our properties. HHPNA members review zoning and variance changes and stand in support of historic principles before City Council and the Architectural Review Commission.

Community-Building:

As a civic organization, we are mindful that community building is much more than bricks and mortar. HHPNA promotes a sense of community in many ways, including hosting an annual Holiday Party and monthly First Friday parties. We promote community service where the time and talents of our volunteer committees go to helping neighbors and the neighborhood. Many raised money for Kate Jackson Center and for street signs by working at the HP Village concerts. Others worked to improve the impact that the Gasparilla Parades have on our neighborhood. We have held seven annual Home Tours with proceeds earmarked to assist various projects including landscaping for Bern's Park. This past year, we held our first Golf Tournament to benefit the VFW Post on Morrison, to help them restore the facilities damaged by fire.

Communications:

We communicate within our neighborhood via our newsletter (The Forum), our website, neighborhood meetings, and special mailings/emailings.

Your participation is important! Please consider joining the HHPNA, or renewing your membership if you haven't already done so. Click on the following link to download the membership form, then fill it out and send it in with your check. All the information you need is here:  Membership Form
